Nobody dreams about becoming frail.
Yet every day, thousands of women unknowingly move in that direction. For decades, they've been taught to focus on burning calories instead of building muscle.
For years we've been told to eat less, do more cardio, and make the number on the scale smaller.
But longevity doesn't come from being smaller. It comes from being stronger.
As we age, we naturally lose muscle mass, and that process speeds up during perimenopause and menopause. Muscle isn't just about looking fit. It's what allows you to climb stairs, carry groceries, recover from falls, play with grandchildren, and maintain your independence.
Walking, yoga, Pilates, running, and cycling all provide incredible health benefits. Keep doing them. But none of them should replace strength training.
Think of strength training as the foundation of your health. Everything else is built on top of it.
If you want to age well:
The goal is to live longer, stronger and the most capable bodied person you can be.
Future You is counting on the decisions you make today.
I recorded a podcast video covering more of this information in detail. You can watch it here.
