Vacation has a way of making people think they're either "all in" or "all out."
One meal turns into an entire weekend.
One weekend turns into an entire month.
Then people come home feeling guilty, frustrated, and convinced they've lost all of their progress.
The truth?
A vacation isn't what ruins your progress.
The all-or-nothing mindset does.
Instead of trying to lose weight while you're away, shift your goal.
Aim for maintenance.
That one mindset change removes the pressure while helping you stay consistent.
Travel is dehydrating.
Long car rides.
Flights.
Restaurant food.
Alcohol.
Heat.
Carry a water bottle everywhere you go.
Order water with every meal.
You'll feel better, have more energy, and often avoid eating simply because you're dehydrated.
Movement doesn't have to be a workout.
Go for a walk.
Explore a new city.
Run if that's your thing.
Visit the hotel gym.
Play with your kids.
The goal isn't burning calories.
The goal is keeping your body moving.
If you know dinner is going to be burgers, pizza, tacos, or dessert...
Great.
Enjoy it.
Just make breakfast and lunch work in your favor.
Think:
A little planning allows you to enjoy dinner without feeling like you've completely abandoned your goals.
Restaurant portions are often two or three times larger than we actually need.
Share a meal.
Split dessert.
Take half home.
Small decisions matter.
You don't need a perfect vacation.
You need a realistic one.
Focus on water.
Move your body.
Eat enough protein.
Then go make memories.
Because the goal isn't perfection.
It's consistency.
